Wiliam, son of Malise, makes known that of his own accord, for the weal of his sould, he has given and confirmed to the canons of Inchaffray in pure and perpetual alms, the portions of land, all and singular, belonging to him within and without the town of Auchterarder, by their meiths and marches, with all their pertinents, for providing a light before the image of St Mary in the choir of the church of Inchaffray

Sciant presentes et futuri, me sponte et mere concessisse dedisse, et in perpetuum confirmasse in puram et perpetuam elemosinam pro salute anime mee, Deo et beate Marie, et beate Iohanni apostolo et Ewangeliste de Insula Missarum ac canonicis eiusdem loci, omnes et singulas particulas terrarum me aliqualiter contingentes infra uel extra uillam de Huterardor per omnes metas et diuisas suas cum omnibus suis pertinenciis, ad inueniendum luminare coram ymagine beate Marie in choro ecclesie eiusdem loci [. . .].
