William, king of Scots grants to God, the church of Blessed Mary of Dryburgh and the canons serving God there, that half carucate of land in Ednam which Archibald abbot of Dunfermline and other honest men gave to them on my order and perambulated in exchange for that half carucate of land which King David, his grandfather, gave to Nicholas the clerk in the same toun etc.

Willelmus Dei gratia rex Scotorum {. . .} me dedisse et concessisse et hac carta mea confirmasse Deo et ecclesie beate Marie de Driburgh et canonicis ibidem Deo servientibus illam dimidiam carucatam terre in Edinham quam Erchibaldus abbas de Dunfermelyne et alij probi homines mei precepto meo eis tradiderunt et perambulaverunt in excambium illius dimidie carucate terre quam rex David avus meus Nicholayo clerico in eadem villa dederat {. . .}
