William, king of Scots, grants to God, the church of St Mary of Dryburgh and the canons serving God there, that land in Pettinain which Robert son of Werenbert, his sheriff of Lanark, perambulated etc. He also grants a toft and croft at the chapel of Pettinain and common pasture of that toun.

Willelmus Dei gracia rex Scotorum {. . .} me dedisse et concessisse et hac carta mea confirmasse Deo et ecclesie sancte Marie de Dryburgh et canonicis ibidem Deo servientibus in liberam et perpetuam elemosinam terram illam in Padenane quam Robertus fililus Werenberti vicecomes meus de Lanark ad opus meum perambulavit {. . .} Concedo etiam eis toftum et croftum ad capellam de Paduenane et communem pasturam ejusdem ville quantum ad personam ipsius capelle pertinet {. . .}
