Richard de Morville, constable of the king of Scots, grants to God, the church of Blessed Mary of Dryburgh and the brothers serving God there, the church of Saltoun with a full carucate of land and all just pertinents. Moreover he confirms the grants of his father of the church of Channelkirk and the fishings of Berwick. He also grants the teinds of his mills of Lauder and Saltoun.

Constable Richard Morville, de Male Lord 100 Richard de Morville (died 1189/90) was the first or second son of Hugh de Morville (d. 1162) and his wife, Beatrice de Beauchamp. He began to attend the Scottish court c.1150, and succeeded to the constableship of Scotland in 1162, holding that office until his death. By 1170 he had married Avicia (d. 1191), daughter of William of Lancaster, lord of Kendal. Their son was William de Morville. ODNB
