dedication text (summary) dedication text (verbatim)Duncan Lichton, chancellor of Aberdeen and vicar of Brechin, in honour of Almighty God and the glorious Virgin Mary, for the souls of Henry late bishop of Aberdeen, his own acquaintances, and his own soul, grants in pure and perpetual alms to the weekly deacons and subdeacons now founded in Aberdeen cathedral, and perhaps founded in future, all the following annual rents. These include an annual rent of 10 s from 3 particates of land including a particate of land lying in the burgage land of the burgh of Banff between the land of the Blessed Virgin Mary commonly called 'the Mary land' on the west part, on one side, and the land of the lord of Pitsligo on the east part, on the other side. The deacons and subdeacons are to celebrate daily at 6 o'clock in the morning a Mass of the day or office of the day at the altar of St John the Evangelist.
