dedication text (summary) dedication text (verbatim)James, king of Scots, confirms charter of John Clat, canon of Aberdeen, made to God, the Blessed Virgin Mary and to a chaplain celebrating divine service, three annual rents (of 6 merks, 4 merks, and 20 s) to a perpetual chaplain in Aberdeen cathedral to celebrate divine service at the altar dedicated to St Katherine the virgin, for the souls of King James II, Alexander Stewart earl of Mar, and those of himself and his parents and of all the faithful departed. Charter is dated 4 March 1455.
