Thomas, earl of Mar, for the salvation of his soul and those of his ancestors and successors, has given, granted, and now confirms to God and the Blessed Mary of Aberdeen, and the dean and chapter of the same church of Aberdeen, the right of patronage of the church of Kildrummy within the bishopric of Aberdeen. From the revenue a chaplain is to be supported who will celebrate divine service for his soul and those of his ancestors and successors to the honour of St James the apostle in the church of Aberdeen.

Omnibus hanc cartam visuris vel audituris Thomas comes de Mar salutem in Domino . Sciatis nos pro salute anime nostre et animarum omnium antecessorum et successorum nostrorum dedisse concessisse et hoc presenti scripto nostro confirmasse Deo et beate Marie de Abbyrdon necnon decano et capitulo eiusdem ecclesie Abbirdonensis ius patronatus ecclesie de Kyldrummy infra episcopatum Abbirdonensem in proprios vsus suos et communiam suam inperpetuum conuertendum tenendum et habendum eisdem decano et capitulo in puram et perpetuam elemosinam secundum modum et formam atque statuta ecclesie Abbirdonensis supradicte adeo libere et quiete plenarie et honorifice sicut ius patronatus alicuius ecclesie a quocunque comite vel barone infra regnum Scotie liberius quietius plenius et honorificentius datur seu possidetur . Predicti vero decanus et capitulum de fructibus illius ecclesie inuenient annuatim vnum capellanum ydoneum perpetuo diuina celebraturum pro salute anime nostre et animarum omnium antecessorum et successorum nostrorum ad honorem beati Jacobi apostoli in ecclesia Abbirdonensi antedicta {. . .}
