Thomas Bonar, the heir of the late Roger Boner, burgess of Aberdeen, and sir John Boner, monk of Cupar, with consent and assent of his son and heir Thomas, for the salvation of his soul and those of his predecessors and successors, grants in alms, in augmentation of the upkeep of a chaplain, celebrating divine service in the south corner of the cathedral church of St Mary of Aberdeen founded by the late Mariota Boner, wife of the foresaid Roger Bonar, all those annual rents lying within the burgh of Aberdeen which are his by hereditary law . . . If he or his heirs contravene this then they will be subject to a penalty of 40 li sterling to the fabric of the foresaid church of St Mary.
