dedication text (summary) dedication text (verbatim)Andrew Shearer, alderman of the burgh of Aberdeen in that time, with consent and assent of the whole common council being then present in the tolbooth, has granted and presented to sir Andrew, the son of the late Thomas Anderson, burgess of Aberdeen, chaplain of the Rood altar in the parish church of the said burgh, that for his continuation of divine service to be done and made by him in the future in St Nicholas' church, that the said Andrew shall have yearly for his fee 10 merks of the usual money of Scotland from the common goods of the burgh, together with all annual rents, profits, and duties pertaining to that altar.
Androu Scherar, Alderman of the burgh of Aberden in that tyme, with consent and assent of the hail common conseil being then present in the tolbuith, has gravntit and presentit to Schir Androu, the son of quhilum Thomas Androson, burges of Aberdene, chaplain of the Rude altar in the parisch kirk of the said burgh, that for his continuatione of diuine seruice to be done and made be him in tyme tocum in Sanct Nicholes' Kirk efter as the tyme askis at his gude diligence and power that the said Sir Androu sal haue yerlie for his fie ten merkis of the vsuale money of Scotland of the common guidis of the said burgh, togiddre with all annualis proffitis and dewiteis pertening to the fornemit Rude altar quhilk soumme and pencion of x. merkis yerlie, togiddre with the Rude altar, the forsaid Sir Andro sal hafe and joiss for all the tyme of his life he makand besy and gude service tharfor as forsaid is.
