dedication text (summary) dedication text (verbatim)In the year of our Lord one thousand, etc, an honourable man William Leith, in his own lifetime adorned and decored the parish church of St Nicholas of Aberdeen with two large bells of great price, hanging in the bell tower, at his own cost and expense, whereof the name of the one is Lawrence and the name of the other Mary. To whose soul may God be gracious. Amen. The same William adorned the said church with a priest's vestment complete, and cope of blue velvet of great price, embroidered, moreover, with orphreys of gold, and other things useful corresponding to the same. Whose soul, may it be placed in heaven. Amen.
