dedication text (summary) dedication text (verbatim)On 20 September 1450, Thomas Blyndseil, burgess of this burgh, in honour of God almighty, and his mother, the glorious Virgin, and all saints, and St Peter, the apostle, for the salvation of his soul and the souls of his parents, his offspring, and of all the faithful departed, gave, granted, assigned and determined, (and through the hands of Richard Kintor, one of the bailies of this burgh, caused a sasine to be drawn up), perpetual possession in pure alms to the altar of St Peter, the apostle, situated in the parish church of St Nicholas of this burgh, of the following annualrents, namely: from a croft lying near the 'Fisbrig' called the Holy lands 12 s; from the Clay Hill 13 s 4 d; from the Short Croft and the two long rigs lying in the territory of the crofts of Footdee 13 s 4 d; from the land which the same Thomas inhabited 13 s 4 d; from Thomas' tenement lying in the Booth Row 13 s 4 d; from the land of William Cowtis lying in the Green 10 s; from the land of Thomas lying in the Nether Kirkgate 10 s; from his land which Margaret de Marr inhabits 6 s 8 d; from the land of John Wood lying on the east part of the 'vici Furcarum' 14 s; from the land which was John Mercer's 13 s 4 d; from the land which was John Shearer's at the east end of Castle Street 5 s; and from the land which William Lammington holds in feuferme from Thomas in Footdee, 8 s.
