dedication text (summary) dedication text (verbatim)The which day it was ordained by the whole council with the consent of the merchands of this burgh that each merchand who sends goods to Bruges shall give in the honour of God and St Nicholas our patron namely 4 'gret' of each sack of wool and 4 g' of the cloth of skins and 1 g' of each barrel and a 'gret' of each dacre of hides. This is to be spent upon the repair of the parish church of St Nicholas. Of each barrel that passes out of this burgh to the Firth or yet any other place, 1 d of the barrel is to be spent in this way. And this was granted with agreement, was to be put under the common seal and was to last for four years until they be better advised.
