Description
Comgall mac Sétnai (511/16--602), founder of Bangor (Co. Down), belonged to Dál nAraidi. St Columbanus lived for some years as a monk of Bangor under Comgall. The intellectual culture of Bangor in the time of Comgall is attested by Columbanus's two surviving hymns. Comgall's feast day is provided for in the Aberdeen Breviary. See 'Ulster, Saints of', ODNB.
