Description
Donnán of Eigg. A disciple of St Columba on Iona, and founder of a community at Eigg. The Annals of Tigernach record 'The burning of Donnan of Eigg, on the fifteenth before the Kalends of May, with a hundred and fifty martyrs'. Feast recorded in Aberdeen Breviary, where he commemorated as an Abbot and Confessor, not a martyr. Anderson, Early Sources, 142--4.
