Description
Constantine, king and martyr, is commemorated in the Aberdeen Breviary on 11 March. There are confused historical traditions in both Scotland and Ireland about Constantine, a king who became a monk. In the Aberdeen Breviary, he is said to have been a king of Cornwall who was martyred in Kintyre. He appears to be a composite figure. See A. Woolf, Where was Govan in the Early Middle Ages? (Govan, 2007)
