Description
The principal source for this saint is the Scots Life of Machar, where he appears as Dewynik, 'a religious man' dwelling in Pictland who goes to convert the Picts of Caithness, and who is ultimately buried at Banchory, where a church is built over his tomb. (Anderson, Early Sources, pp. 41-2.) This is the story which appears in the Aberdeen Breviary (Nov. 13).
