Description
A bishop called Baithan is one of those addressed in a letter of Pope John IV in 640 on the Easter question and the danger of Pelagianism (Bede, HE, ii.19). There is some confusion over whether a Bothanus, bishop of Dunblane, was commemorated on 18 Janunary at Holyrood Abbey. Forbes, Kalendars, 265-6; ODS, 45.
