Description
Lived in the 7th century. He is the reputed founder of Tech Munnu (Taghmon, co. Wexford). He is mentioned by Adomnán in the Life of St Columba, and in a letter from Cummian to Abbot Ségéne of Iona written c.633. The death of Fintan son of Telchán is recorded under A.D. 635 in the Annals of Ulster. C. Doherty, 'Finten', ODNB. There are other saints of this name, including Fintan of Clonenagh and Fintan of Rheinau, both Irish.
