- Most reverend father, your most reverend fatherhood should know that . . . to the praise, glory, and honour of the supreme and undivided Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the most blessed and unblemished ever virgin Mary, Mother of God and Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, my collegiate church of Biggar, in Glasgow diocese, having been raised under the title and invocation of the assumption of the same, the present patron, instituted by me, as well as the blessed Nicholas, patron of the parish church of Biggar, and Ninian , confessor, and all the saints of the heavenly court . . . I have founded, endowed and effectively built a college or Collegiate Church [etc.] The Provost is to celebrate the feast of the assumption of the Virgin Mary in the college as the principal feast [. . .] the first prebendary it to hold the prebend of St Leonard's Hospital [. . .] the third prebendary is to the sacrist of the college and is to have for his support the chaplainry of Blessed Mary [. . .] This prebendary is to ring the bells, light the candles on the high altar and in the two aisles and of the altar of the Crucifixion [. . .] Item, every Tuesday they should solemnly sing, immediatley afterthe end of matins, a mass in honour of Saint Anne, maother of the most blessed and immaculate Virgin Mary; Item, every Wednesday they should solemnly sing mass immediatley after the end of matins in honour of Saint Nicholas and Saint Ninian, bishops and confessors; Item, every Thursday they should solemnly sing mmass in honour of the Body of Christ; Item, every Friday, they should solemnly sing mass of the Five Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ; Item, every Saturday, they should solemnly sing mass immediately afterthe end of matins as above of the feast of <the Assumption> of blessed Mary Ever Virgin
