Richard of Kirkcaldy, rector of Melville, relates that after the litigation against the abbot and convent of Inchcolm regarding St Mary's chapel in the cemetery of the church of Fithkil, he has decided that the chapel ought to pertain to the church of Fithkil and renounces all right to it to Inchcolm monastery.
