summary

William Gifford, burgess of Aberdeen, grants to sir David Vaus, curate of the parish church of Aberdeen and chaplain of the altar of St Mary Magdalene within it, an annual rent of 20 s from his land in the Shiprow, for a sum which the said sir David paid on behalf of his master, Andrew Alanson, in augmentation of the original foundation of the said altar by the said late Andrew, for the welfare of the souls of the said Andrew, Christiana Cadzow his spouse, Walter Gifford, Agnes Ancroft his spouse, the granter William Gifford and Christiana his spouse etc, to be held from the granter in pure alms, offering the usual prayers.
