The Queen confirms in mortmain the foundation charter made by the bailies, councillors and John Hay of Yester, of the Collegiate Church of St Andrew, in the parish church of Peebles, a college consisting of a provost, twelve prebendaries and two choristers. The Prebendaries are named as those at the altars of St Mary in Childbirth, the Holy Cross, St Michael the Archangel, St Mary Major, SS. Peter and Paul, St John the Baptist, St Mary of Geddes Aisle, St Andrew, St James, St Laurence, St Martin, St Christopher
