Walter, bishop of Glasgow grants and confirms to the church of St Mary of Dryburgh and the canons serving God there the church of Lanark with its chapel of Pettinain and chapel of Cleghorn etc. The charter is dated at Ancrum in 1232 on the day of St Dunstan the bishop.

Noverit universitas vestre nos {. . .} concessisse et episcopali auctoritate confirmasse ecclesie sancte Marie de Driburgh et canonicis ibidem Deo servientibus ecclesiam de Lanark cum capella sua de Padeuenane et capella de Clegern {. . .} Datum apud Alnecrum anno gracie millesimo cco tricesimo secundo die sancti Dunstani episcopi .
