dedication text (summary) dedication text (verbatim)William de Vaux makes a grant to God and the church of St Andrew of Gullane which he and his heirs, of the chapel of St Andrew of Dirleton, shall cause to be served perpetually. To this end he has obliged himself and his heirs so that the chaplain who will minister divine service in the foresaid chapel will swear faithfulness to the mother church of Gullane. In recognition of the right of the mother church of Gullane, the foresaid chapel of Dirleton shall pay to that church one pound of incense annually at the feast of St Andrew.
