The fair, on St Laurence day, is ordered to be proclaimed at all the mercat crosses and also with the hand bell to pass through the great burgh towns, namely in Hawick, Jedburgh, Kelso, Melrose, Peebles, Haddington, Lauder, Lanark, and Linlithgow.
