James II narrates that he has granted to the alderman, bailies and community of the burgh of Ayr the right to hold a fair yearly at the feast of St Michael in addition to their old privilege to hold a feast at the feast of St John the Baptist yearly. Commands sheriff of Ayr not to interfere with the keeping of the new fair.
