Sir John Chalmer of Gaitgirth, knight, and Dame Jonot Hamilton, his spouse, grant tenement and land to the place of St Katherine. In return the prior and convent are required to conduct an obit with dirige and nine lections as well as a Mass with music in the Trinity aisle of the church with other private Masses on the morning after the dirige. This dirige shall be done yearly on St Dionysius' day in the afternoon and the Mass on the following morning. If the friars default in these services then the yearly annual rent from the tenement shall be given to the choristers and chaplains of St John's kirk of Ayr to perform them in the Trinity aisle of St John's kirk.
