Payment of 5 li to the chaplain celebrating Mass at the altar of the blessed Thomas the Martyr in the parish church of Renfrew, receiving 100 s annually from the burgh fermes. The compter was advised that, because he did not present letters of acquittance of the said chaplain, under the penalty of 10 li to be taken from the said burgh, at the next exchequer he should produce letters of acquittance of the said chaplain for receipt of his salary as much for the past year as the present one

To chaplain of St Thomas, as p. 427, £5, et quia non presentavit literas acquietancie dicti capellani, precipitur computanti, sub pena decem librarum levandarum de dicto burgo, quod destinare faciat ad proximum scaccarium literas quietancie dicti capellani de recepto salarii sui, tam anni preteriti quam presentis.
