dedication text (summary) dedication text (verbatim)Simon de Balram, son and heir of John de Balram, relates that on the Thursday next after the feast of St Leonard 1273, in the parish church of Aberdour, a controversy between him and the abbot and convent of Inchcolm was settled whereby Simon gave up all claims to the land of Broadleys in favour of the abbot and convent, ratifying the previous sale of that land in return for 40 silver merks.
