Alexander Comyn, earl of Buchan, after instituting a lawsuit against the abbot and convent of Inchcolm regarding the patronage of the church of Fithkil, now renounces all right and claim to the patronage in favour of Inchcolm.

Omnibus Sancte matris ecclesie filiis presens Scriptum visuris vel audituris Alexander Comine Comes de Bochone Salutem in domino. Noverit universitas vestra quod cum nos viros Religiosos Abbatem et conventum de Insula Sancti Columbe coram venerabili patre Ricardo Dei gratia Dunkeldensi episcopo traxissemus in causam nomine nostro et nomine Thome de Melghedrum Super advocatione ecclesie de Fithkil {. . .} Tandem post multas altercaciones nos Deum pre oculis habentes et pauperitati eiusdem monasterii de Insula pia devotione compatientes ac participium orationum eiusdem monasterii affectantes eidem monasterio et canonicis ibidem Deo servientibus et imperpetuum servituris totum ius et clameum quod in advocacione eiusdem ecclesie de Fithkil {. . .}
