dedication text (summary) dedication text (verbatim)

Arrangement between the Culdees of Monymusk and the bishop of St Andrews. The Culdees will continue to hold the half carucate of land of 'Eglismonychcok' which they were gifted by Robert, bishop of St Andrews. . . . However, the lands which these Culdees received by grant of Gilcrist, earl of Mar, without consent of the foresaid bishop, namely 'Dulbethok' and 'Fernochty', they resigned into the hand of the bishop in such a way that they will sell no right in them, except with his consent or that of his successors.

{. . .} Predicti vero kildei dimidiam carucatam terre Eglismonychcok nomine quam ex donatione Roberti bone memorie episcopi Sancti Andree habuerunt adeo libere integre et quiete vt eandem a tempore eiusdem episcopi vsque ad hec tempora possederunt de cetero possidebunt in perpetuum {. . .} Terras autem quas hijdem kildei ex concessione Gilcrist comitis de Marr sine consensu predicti episcopi receperunt . scilicet Dulbethok et Fernochty resignauerunt in manum episcopi ita quod de cetero nihil iuris vendicabunt in eis nisi de consensu suo aut successorum suorum {. . .}
