Since Laurence Piot, archdeacon of Aberdeen and rector of a chaplainry at the altar of St Andrew, the apostle, in the same church, left certain sums of money as a legacy to the dean and canons of the chapter for a chaplain to celebrate divine service perpetually, for buying lands and annual rents for the richer infeftment of the chaplainry and sustentation of the chaplain, Thomas Fife of 'Eschintuly', burgess of the burgh of Aberdeen, now sells to them an annual rent of 13 s 4 d from his lands of 'Eschintully'.
