dedication text (summary) dedication text (verbatim)Robert II grants to Gilbert, bishop of Aberdeen, chancellor, a silver cross in which is contained a certain piece of wood of the cross of St Andrew the apostle; two cloth hangings, one an Arras cloth of the story of the offering of the Three Kings of Cologne to the blessed Virgin, and the other a linen cloth painted with beasts and birds; and a large breviary, which {all} belonged to the late lord Walter last bishop of St Andrews and which now pertain to the king by royal law through the death of the said bishop.
