William Strabrock, burgess of Aberdeen, with consent and assent of his son and heir William, for the salvation of his soul and those of his parents and friends, grants a quit claim to the altar of St James the apostle situated in the parish church of St Nicholas of Aberdeen, of an annual rent of 6 merks sterling . . . The charter is dated at Aberdeen on Saturday on the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the year 1340.

Vniuersis hanc cartam visuris vel audituris W . de Strabrok burgensis de Aberden eternam in Domino salutem .
