Copy of a letter of James V dated 13 December 1537 following petition by Master Robert McKeson, chaplain of the Holy Blood altar within the parish church of Aberdeen, who has been accustomed to receive 10 s of annual rent from a land lying in the Chequer Row on the south side between the land of St Sebastian's altar on the east etc. Lately, however, William Chisholm, the heritable possessor of the land, has been refusing to pay the annual rent and has lately sold the land to Robert 'Indeaucht' who likewise refuses to pay. The king thus instructs the burgh's provost and bailies to investigate the matter. The latter find in favour of Master Robert and his successors as chaplains.
