The saide day the prouest bailzeis counsale and communite of the said burghe opinly warnit be the handbele and officeris throwe the haile toune gatherit and inquerit seueralie euerie mane for him self grantit and gaf to Master Gavane Leslie thar perpetuale chaplanry of Sanct Jonhne the Baptistis altar situated within thar paroche kirk vacant be decess of vmquhile maister Williame Strachauchin last possessor of the samyn Ande Gilbert Menzeis prouest gaf the saide chaplanry to master Thomas Chamer procurator for the said master Gavane be the gift of his ringe And ordanit tentiwe writ to be maid tharapone and thar commone seile to be appensit to the samyn.
