The alderman, bailies, council and community grant to Master David Menzies their perpetual chaplainry of St Peter's altar, within the parish church, vacant by death of Master Andrew Crawfurd, last possessor. The said day Master David Menzies resigned the perpetual chaplainry of St Duthac's altar in favour of sir David Vaus, his kinsman. The alderman, bailies, council and community then gave the said chaplainry to sir David Vaus.

The said day the aldirman ballieis counsale and communite grantit and gaf tile ane worschipfule mane master Dauy Menzeis thar perpetuale chaplainry of Sanct Peteris altar within thar paroche kirk of the said burghe for all the dais of his liwe vacand and being in thar disposicioun and gift be decess of vmquhile master Andro Crafurd last possessor of the saymn and ordanit to seile his donacioun and gift with thar common sele. The said day Master Dauy Menzeis purely ande simpilie resignit the perpetuale chaplanry of Sanct Duthois altar in the handis of Gilbert Menzeis alderman of the saide burghe be ane gluff in fauor of Sir Dauy Waus his cosing And Incontinent therefter the aldirman ballieis counsal and communite gaf the said cheplanry to the saide Sir Dauy for ale the dais of his liwe And ordanit to sele his donacioun and gift tharapone with thar common sele.
