The same day the alderman, bailies and a number of the council and community of Aberdeen representing the town, granted the patronage of St Ninian's altar to William Meldrum of Fyvie and to his heirs male. William has given to sir Robert Leis, perpetual chaplain of the altar, and his successors 5 merks of annual rent, in augmentation of the chaplainry.

The samyn day the aldirman baillies and diueris of the consal and comunitie of Aberdeen representand the body of the toune grantit the patronage of Sanct Ninianis altar to William Meldrum of Fywe and to his ayris maile lauchfullie gottin of his bodie and to be gottyne the saide Willliam gevin in augmentatione and eking of the said chaplainry to Sir Robert Leis perpetual chaplain of the samyn and his successouris fiwe merkis of annuell rent tharof xls. of the landis of Watterton beside Ellone and tua merkis of Ardefork ande grantit thar common sele tharapone the said William deliuering his charter of new infeftment of the said fiwe merkis to gidder with the annuellis of the ald infeftment to the said chaplain And efter the said Sir Robertis decess the said William sal present ane sufficient cheplain that be ane sangaster and chorist conuenient for the vpholdin of diuine seruice in the queir of Aberdene quhilk sal mak continuale residence ande seruice in the samyn And attor gyf the saidis William and his ayris male beis sleuthtfull ony tymes quhen the said chaplainry vakis and presentis not ane sufficient chorist within xl. dais thareftir than it salbe lesum to the alderman balzeis consale ande communitie of Abirdene frely to dispone tharapone at that tyme and to present ane conuient mane for the samyn to the vpholdin of goddis seruice as saide is.
