dedication text (summary) dedication text (verbatim)Andrew Alanson, burgess of Aberdeen, and Christiana Cadzow his spouse, for the increase of divine worship, and in honour of Almighty God and the glorious Virgin Mary etc, grant to God and the altar of St Mary Magdalene in the parish church of St Nicholas, and to sir Robert Roull, chaplain, their land lying between the land of the late Robert Fraser's heirs on the north, Alexander Blinseil's on the south, and the king's highways on east and west; also two crofts within the zone of crofts; also an annual rent of 21 s 8 d from the late John Blinseil's lands in the Green, with an annual rent of 5 s from another of the late John Blinseil's lands in Footdee; said land, crofts, and annual rents amounting to 15 merks, less 2 merks of annual rent from said crofts sold by the said late John Blinseil to Master Duncan Lichton, chancellor of Aberdeen. To be held in alms from the granters, offering up the usual prayers. The granters further direct the chaplain to perform yearly a trental with Placebo and Dirige for the foresaid souls on Sunday and Saturday following the feast of Corpus Christi; the patronage of the said chaplainry to remain with the heirs of the granter.
