dedication text (summary) dedication text (verbatim)On 17 June, in the foresaid year, by the common council it was granted to sir John of Kyndeloch, chaplain, that chaplainry of the chapel of St Ninian, the confessor, situated in the church of the Carmelite brothers of the town of Bruges in Flanders and the fare of a sarpler [bale/sack of wool] from any ship sailing from that burgh as far as Flanders and Zeeland; and because the foresaid fare of a sarpler, from of old, was granted to the repair and edification of the church of St Nicholas of this burgh, the same council grants to St Nicholas and the foresaid church 2 g' of money of Flanders to be lifted from any sarpler, from any barrel of Hamburgh 6 'mitez', from any small barrel 4 'mytez', and from any 'dacra' of hides 4 'mitez', in recompense of the fare of the foresaid sarpler.
Decimo septimo die mensis Junii, anno supra dicto, per commune consilium concessa fuit domino Johanni de Kyndeloch', capellano, illa capellaria capelle Beati Niniani, confessoris, cituate in ecclesia fratrum Carmelitarum ville de Brugis in Flandria et naulum unius sarpellarii de qualibet nave naviganti de isto burgo usque Flandriam et Zelandiam; et quia naulum predictum unius sarpellarii ab antiquo concessum fuit reparacioni et edificacioni ecclesie Beati Nicholai huius burgi, idem consilium concessit Beato Nicholaio et ecclesie predicte ij g' monete Flandrie levandos de quolibet sarpellario, de qualibet barella de Hamburgh' vj mitez, de qualibet parva barella iiij mytez, et de qualibet dacra coreorum iiij mitez, in recompensacione nauli sarpellarii supradicti.
