Item, I grant 13 li 6 s 8 d to the fabric of the church of St Andrew. Item, I gave and granted for times past a brooch of St John, 40 merks in price only to the work and fabric of the church of Newbattle which, by my own hands, I handed over to the use of the said monastery under this condition that if my son and heir wanted to hand over 40 merks towards the said fabric in place of the said brooch, he will have for the said price the brooch which was released to William Kincardine for the use of the said monastery
