Item, I grant to John Livingstone a ring with St Christopher. Item, I grant a chalice and missal to the chapel of St Nicholas of Dalkeith. Item, I grant to the sustentation of the fabric of [the church of] St Andrew 6 li 13 s 4 d. Item, I grant a brooch of St John, with the price of 40 merks only to the sustentation of the fabric of the church of Newbattle but I want, if it pleases James my son and heir, that he hand over 40 merks to the foresaid fabric and keep the said brooch for himself. For this gift I want the convent of the said monastery to pray to God for my soul and that of Agnes my wife.
