In presens of the Lordis of Counsell, comperit James Douglas of Drumlanrik, Knycht, and schew how ane Maist Reverend Fader in God, Johnne Archbischop of Sanctandrois, Thesaurar for the tyme to our Soverane Lady, and Robert Carnegy, Thesaurar Clerk for the tyme, at command of my Lord Governour become actit to him for payment of the sowme of v c li yeirlie and termlie at twa termes in the yeir, viz, Sanctandrois day and Midsomer, sa lang as he broukit the office of wardanry of the West Merchis of this realme foranentis Ingland, and confessit that thai had payit him of all termes precedand the dait heirof, and that he had left the said office of wardanry, and thairfor wes contentit that the said act wer deleit and put furth of the saidis bukis for ever, and desirit the saidis Lordis to interpone thair autorite to the samyn; the quhilk desire, the saidis Lordis thocht reasonabill, and ordanit and ordanis the said act to be deleit and put furth of the saidis bukis, and the samyn to be extinct for ever, siclik as and the samyn had never bene maid, and never to haif strenth, fayth, force, nor effect in jugement, nor outwith in tyme to cum, and hes interponit thair autorite to the samyn, and ordanis lettres to be direct heirupoun, gif neid be, in forme as efferis.
